Bank WIR was founded in 1934 as a self-help institution for small and medium-sized companies and, alongside the WIR clearing system, runs a regular banking business for private customers. Its mortgage lineup includes fixed-rate mortgages and SARON mortgages.
The bank has branches across German-speaking Switzerland and the Romandy. For private customers who have nothing to do with the SME side of the business, Bank WIR is a lesser-known alternative to the big universal banks, though it can offer competitive terms.
